Re: Tariffs impact
I feel you man. But I've got a thought I was exploring with chatgpt and I'll simply drop this nugget from that conversation. If Jeff Skoll gets his way, no one would ever own an Aptera. I went on to explore the idea of a long term lease as the only way to drive an aptera. It is quite a tale but it ...

Re: Battery design and info
I saw that and it means that the 1000-mile batteries won't work with the current battery-pack tooling.
I think uttering the 4680-format is actually code for the 1000 mile batter-pack's engineering is at the clean-sheet stage.
That said, this 'model' is obviously a premium model if not a ...

Ooops! Mea Culpa
Earlier on the board, I had mentioned that things might get a little wonky as I was moving the site from one server to another as the older server, I'd run for a decade. was already obsolete and had to be changed.
At 74 and no 'special help' I overcame my incompetence at this (after pleading with ...

Re: Battery design and info
My experience with EVs is that I can pretty much drive them to attain the distance I need to go. For instance the difference between driving 75mph and 60 mph in my Bolt is the difference between 3,9/4.2 miles kwh and 2.9 and 3.1 miles per kwh for the higher speed.
Bottom line, you trade speed for ...

Re: New to the neighborhood…
I made the trip from Arkansas to LA and back once in the 1980s in a Grand Cherokee. In full deference to Rudyard Kipling, You're a better man than I am GonzoGeezer ... My limited experience with motorbikes was like 40 mile road trips on my brother's Honda 250 or, later, his Triumph 650 or, earlier ...

2bitdavinci on why high speed rail is a bad idea
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afD7PNXcVh8
This is a very inciteful discussion on why America probably is not the best place for high speed rail development.
The discussion touches on America's love for the new and how that conflicts with one of the key challenges of modern society which is ...

Re: Battery design and info
I've run into power reduced messages on my Spark EV a dozen or more times but have never been left stranded on the side of the road out of 'juice'.
The thing is with regen, it is hard to run an EV completely out of juice as demonstrated by the out-of-spec guys on their 70 mph to stop ... but they ...

Re: Aptera at CES
I would have hoped an Engineer at Aptera would know the definition of "Perpetual Motion Machine" and that Aptera isn't one....
I'm certain they do know the difference. That said, Aptera presents as a virtuous circle that has no finite limit in terms of movement ... provided, of course, you let ...
